We are currently offering the 2023 KTM 300 XC as our rental bikes. These bikes boast a 300cc 2 stroke motor, TBI fuel injection, a 6 speed transmission, and the latest in WP suspension. KTM built these as race bikes, and it shows. With 2 engine mapping options offering the ability to navigate more technical terrain or blast through the wide open hills, this is the ultimate off road dirt bike.

Here at GRIT, we have a passion for sharing our passion. Someday soon, we would like to offer options to less experienced riders in order to share the joys of our sport. However, now is not that time. These bikes are serious machines with serious power. They will bite you if you don’t have the proper experience. That’s why we REQUIRE prior experience (3+ years) to rent our bikes. Not only is this for the safety of these very expensive machines, it is also for the safety of the rider. Please respect and be realistic when evaluating yourself as a rider. We want to ensure that everyone has an awesome time out there!

When renting a bike, you will be required to wear RIDING boots and a motorcycle helmet. This means that work boots and a bicycle helmet will not fly. These are serious machines that require serious riders. If you don’t have a helmet or riding boots, or you don’t want to bring yours with you, we will have multiple sizes available to rent. Boots or a helmet individually are $40/day, or you can rent both for $75/day.

Please note: you must be 21+ with a valid drivers license to rent. A rider under 21 years of age can ride if they are accompanied by an adult. Minimum age to ride is 16 years old.

All riders must have a valid proof of medical insurance upon arrival. We will take photos of both your medical insurance proof and valid drivers license to keep on file.

Only one rider per bike. Due to insurance purposes, only one person is allowed to ride the bike. This means you cannot rent one bike and take turns riding. The person on the rental is 100% liable for anything that happens while the bike is in their possession.

We offer an optional liability coverage in case you are involved in an accident with someone else out on the trail. This is a coverage that you will purchase straight from MBA insurance after you book your reservation. This coverage is $25 per day per rider. EACH rider will have to purchase their own insurance. A link will be sent via email after booking with the information needed to purchase the insurance. Please make a note in the “Comments” section of the booking form stating that you would like to opt in for the insurance. Dirt biking is dangerous and unpredictable. This insurance is to cover you and those around you in the event of an accident.

If you are renting a trailer, you will need proof of valid car insurance upon arrival.

All of our machines are available for single or multi day rentals.

Deadline for booking is 3:00pm MST the day prior.

Single day rentals are a 7 hour duration with a morning start and afternoon finish. Time slots are 8:30am - 3:30pm and 9:30am - 4:30pm. Please expect to arrive 30 minutes early to finish up your paperwork and go through orientation.

Multi day rentals will be scheduled to be picked up at 8:30am or 9:30am on the first day and be scheduled to return at 3:30pm or 4:30pm on the final day. Please let us know what time you plan to drop off in the booking form.

Drop offs are available within a certain radius of Montrose, CO. See “Trail Drop Off” section for more information.

As the renter, YOU are 100% responsible for the machines in your possession as soon as you leave the shop/trail drop off location. This means any damage, theft, or recovery is on you. If we have to come and get you from anywhere other than the designated pickup/drop off location there will be a fee of $100 per hour per person that it takes to come and get you. So please ride aware and responsibly.

Of course, if there is clearly a mechanical failure that was not caused by the renter, we will work out a solution. This is at the discretion of GRIT Motorsports. Again, our goal is for everyone to have fun, and that is the mindset that goes into making those tough calls.

If damage occurs, we will review the cost of the damaged part(s) when the bike is returned and that amount will be withheld from the damage deposit. If the damage to the bike exceeds the deposit amount, the difference will be charged to the card.

Bikes are to be returned washed and free of any mud/dirt/debris from the day. A cleaning fee of $50.00 will be charged if bikes are returned dirty. A $50.00 cleaning fee will automatically be applied to bikes that are being picked up/dropped off at a trail head. We suggest using the Main Street Car Wash at:

It is right down the road from the shop, easy to use, and a reasonable price.

We advise that all customers try to bring a Hydration pack with water, Goggles, Riding Jersey and Pants, Gloves, Neck Brace, Chest Protector, Sunscreen, and some sort of Lunch to eat while out riding. We offer the ability to rent a helmet, riding boots, or both if you need them, but you're welcome to use your own gear as well.

Come directly to our location! There is no riding straight from the shop, so you will either need a pickup truck, your own trailer, or a vehicle with a 2" ball hitch. If you are hauling with a pickup or have your own trailer, we will have ramps and tie downs included for you to use. If you're interested in renting our trailer, it is an additional $75 per day and includes a loading ramp, straps, and a 2"" ball if needed. Customers who opt for pick-up and plan to tow with a rented trailer will need proof of valid auto insurance.

We want to be sure that everyone who wants to get out and ride, has the opportunity to get out and ride. That’s why we offer a trail drop off/pick up option. If you’re flying into town or you don’t want to haul your own bikes all the way out here, we offer the ability to meet you at the trail or wherever you might be staying to drop off our bikes.

Drop offs within a 30 minute radius of our shop are available for an additional $50.00. This radius includes some pretty epic riding such as Peach Valley OHV, Flat Top OHV, Dry Creek, and the Dave Wood Road area. Drop offs will also have a cleaning fee of $50.00 per machine automatically added onto the booking cost.

We can accommodate drop offs outside of the 30 minute radius for an additional charge, but only when renting multiple units for multiple days.

We want to be as transparent as possible with costs. Here’s a breakdown of our prices:

• $300 per unit to rent for a single day (7 hrs).

• $275 per unit per day if renting for multiple days.

• $750 hold on credit card per bike during rental duration. Hold will be released 72hrs after rental period at the latest.

• $75 per day to rent a trailer to haul bikes.

• $40 per day to rent a helmet or pair of boots. $75 per day if you rent both.

• $50 if you want bikes delivered/picked up from a location within 30 minutes of the shop (+$50 cleaning fee).

• $50 cleaning fee if bike isn’t washed before returning.

• $100 per hour per person if trail recovery is needed.

Reservations can be canceled by contacting us directly at our phone or email. We are happy to provide a voucher to reschedule within the next 6 months as we understand things happen. If you choose to cancel your booking, we require a 48 hour notice. All bookings canceled within the 48 hour window will forfeit the full booking price, including bookings made within the 48 hour window. Any bookings canceled with more than 48 hours notice will receive a 75% refund of the booking cost. Please understand that when you book, the machines are no longer available to be rented by other customers. That is why we are strict with our refund policies. No shows or poor communication regarding a cancellation will forfeit the entire booking cost.
