Keep in mind, this doesn’t always mean a single day trip. We hope that this information is helpful for you to plan your adventure. Montrose, CO

Montrose is the town that GRIT Motorsports calls home. It’s a great little town that’s big enough to be the local hub for amenities. Main street is a great place to grab lunch or hang out for an evening. There are some awesome spots to grab food and drinks. Click on the link for more information about the area.

 

Delta, CO

Delta is about 30 minutes north of Montrose. It’s another great town that is smaller and more “up-and-coming” in comparison to Montrose. It has a great main street and is known as “The City of Murals”. It’s definitely worth stopping in and walking around. Click on the link for more information about the area.

 

Ridgway, CO

Ridgway is a pretty awesome town with a very “modern cowboy” feel. It’s one of the locations that the original “True Grit” film took place in, which probably explains some of the cowboy feel. This is the first town you cross through when you head into the San Juan Mountains from Montrose. The drive is stunning. Click on the link for more information about the area.

 

Ouray, CO

Ouray is probably one of the more well known towns in the area. It’s an epic mountain town with plenty to do. Upon arrival, you’ll see why it’s called the “Switzerland of America”. Plan to walk around the beautiful downtown and take a dip in one of the local hot springs. Click on the link for more information about the area.

 

Telluride, CO

Telluride is probably the most well known town in the area. It’s an iconic mountain town with some more upscale amenities. The historic town is located in a valley with Black Bear Pass and Bridal Veil Falls as a backdrop. You can then take a free gondola ride over a mountain and down into the ski resort. Silverton, CO

Silverton is one of the coolest old mining towns in Colorado. It’s a bit of a drive from Montrose, but very much well worth it. You’ll get to drive along the Million Dollar Highway, known for its “million dollar views”. The town itself is surrounded by plenty of trails to explore, and has some historic places to grab a bite or drink afterward. Click on the link for more information about the area.
