Montrose
Dining and Drinks
Pomona Brewing Company
Pomona Brewing is one of the best places to grab a bite and drink in Montrose. The owners Kevin and Chelsey are fantastic people and very involved in our community. They’ve even been a sponsor of the GRIT racing team. Their beer is delicious, and they’re food is great too. If you’re trying to decide where to stop after a day out on the trail, this should be your first choice!
San Juan Coffee House
Colorado Boy Pizzeria & Brewery
This is a great local spot to swing in for a cup of coffee. The staff is very friendly, and they have a great selection of coffee. It’s a great environment to relax and sip on your brew, or catch up on some laptop work. The owners are very proud of the business they’ve built, and its a great story if you get the chance to ask.
Colorado Boy is a great spot for awesome pizza and good beer right off of Main Street. It’s a very nice setting, has a great selection of pizza, and won’t break the bank when it comes to pizza of this caliber. Our favorites are the Cowboy, Jalapeno Popper, and Sweet Calabrese. Stop by and plan on trying a couple for yourself.
Double Barrel Taco Company
This is one of my personal favorites here in Montrose. They have a fantastic selection of one-off tacos. For my Texas people, this is like the Torchy’s Tacos of Colorado. This place started as a taco truck, and grew into a restaurant. That’s how you know it’s good. My top picks are the Double Barrel, Down South Sawed Off, and TxAF V2. Pair it with a Corona and you’re set. The restaurant itself is super cool, with a full length bar and windows that face Main Street, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time (with all of the modern hygiene of course).
Tacos & Beer Montrose
The name says it all. Really good food with a great drink selection. Their margaritas are fantastic too. The food isn’t pricey and they have a salsa bar. How much more could you ask for? They have some pretty awesome lunch specials too. The restaurant is located on the south side of town for those of you that might be headed to/coming back from the San Juans.
